General

Continual use of petro chemicals is not good for your health and it is costly. Try to use a natural antibacterial solution like ours or vinegar or a steam cleaner where possible. E-cloths are said to remove 99% of bacteria and are an excellent alternative.

Essential Oils

Use to freshen up and provide a cleaner environment.

Salt

Salt is an abrasive solution for scrubbing. Use salt to get rid of rust and mildew. Salt also works to help polish copper and silver.

Toothpaste

Toothpaste works as a very mild abrasive, similar to soft scrubbing gel solutions. Toothpaste can be used to clean silver. It can also be used to remove stains on white clothing, tennis shoes, and in many other places where a light scrubbing is needed.

Pet Hair

Use a damp cloth and spray it with a natural antibacterial solution. Then wipe upholstery or furniture with the cloth to remove pet hair. If you do not have a natural antibacterial solution like our Multi-Surface & Floor Cleaner, use a steam cleaner over the area after wiping.

Remove Red Wine

To clean red wine from a carpet or upholstery immediately after it has been spilled, spray or dowse the area with soda water then remove any excess with a paper towel. Continue with new pieces of paper towel until no colour can be been on the towel.

White Vinegar

A natural all-purpose cleaner that disinfects and deodorises - the smell vanishes after it dries. Mix a solution of equal parts of water and vinegar into a spray bottle. The solution will clean most areas of your home. Pop a small amount into your bucket or spray the mixed solution directly onto your floor when mopping. It is an inexpensive way to keep your floors clean and it is a great stain remover. Use in kitchens and bathrooms for the bathtub, toilet, sink, counter-tops and floors. It eats away the soap scum and hard water stains on your fixtures and tiles leaving them shiny and beautiful.

Vinegar carefully combined with bicarbonate-of-soda, makes a great foaming toilet cleaner. Be aware that improperly diluted, vinegar can eat away at tile grout. Do not use on marble surfaces. It can also be used in the rinse cycle of your washing machine as a natural fabric softener. Add half a cup of vinegar to the rinse cycle in place of your fabric softener. Vinegar has the added benefit of breaking down laundry detergent more effectively.

Lime Scale Solution

Heat white vinegar in a saucepan and immerse the area with the solution (it will not damage the chrome). You can use a cloth or paper towel soaked in the hot vinegar solution and wrap it around the area of limescale - leave for 1 hour only. Then scrub the area using a brush and wash off the excess vinegar. Polish with a Window Cloth.

Appliances

Use vinegar to clean the washing machine or dishwasher.

Cleaning a microwave - Put a cup of water into the microwave and turn it on. The steam will loosen any stubborn splatters of food which can then be easily removed with a damp cloth.

Cleaning windows and glass - Mix 25% vinegar with 75% warm water in a spray bottle and lightly spray the window with the mixture. Leave for a few minutes then polish dry with an Window Cloth.

Lemon Juice

Lemon juice is a natural bleach and degreaser that can be used to dissolve soap scum and hard water deposits. The juice works to clean and shine dishes and it also works on brass or copper.

Washing Up

Try mixing lemon juice with vinegar or bicarbonate-of-soda to make cleaning pastes.

Use a half cut lemon with a sprinkle of bicarbonate-of-soda to scrub dishes, surfaces, and stains (be aware, lemon juice can act as a natural bleach). Always test on a hidden area first.

Hard Wood Furniture Polish Recipe

Mix 1 cup of olive oil and 1/2 cup of lemon juice. This can be used in replacement of shop brought polishes. It is natural, better for the wood and your health.

Bicarbonate-of-soda

Bicarbonate-of-soda is a mild abrasive powder that doesn’t scratch. Great to use in kitchens and bathrooms to scrub surfaces especially white plastic baths and sinks. It works to removes stains and can be used to help soften laundry. It is also a great deodoriser whether you want to use it on trash cans, laundry or smelly shoes, bicarbonate-of-soda is a great natural solution and an all-round cleaner.

Laundry Room

Put 2 tablespoons of bicarbonate-of-soda in with your washing to remove nasty smells.
