Terms Of Service
Maidsofpoppins.co.uk reserves the right to make any changes to any part of these Terms of Service and Terms and Conditions without giving any prior notice.
By placing an order either over phone, email or website, the customer has a verbal or written agreement, and is bound to Maidsofpoppins.co.uk Terms of Service and Terms & Conditions.
1. SERVICES
1.1 REGULAR DOMESTIC CLEANING/ COMMERCIAL CLEANING
1.1.1 The Customer agrees to these terms upon the placing of an order and or the commencement of a job.
1.1.2 Maidsofpoppins.co.uk reserves the right to suspend cleaning services if there are 2 weekly missing payments or if paper work is not returned to Maidsofpoppins.co.uk within 7 days.
1.1.3 A minimum duration of 3 cleaning hours applies.
1.1.4 If any estimates of how long it will take our operatives to do the job required are being provided this is only an estimate based on the average time it takes to clean a home of similar sizes to the Customer’s, it being difficult to estimate precisely how long such tasks may take and degree of flexibility may be required.
1.1.5 If collection of keys is required from a location outside the postal code area of the cleaning scheduled, a £10 charge will apply.
1.1.6 Maidsofpoppins.co.uk will not be responsible for triggering any alarm systems. The Customer should give any special instructions for deactivation/activation of any household alarm systems.
1.1.7 The Customer understands that the price quoted over the phone or email does not include anything apart from cleaning and ironing labor.
1.1.8 Termination of services needs to be put in writing giving us 4 weeks written notice otherwise the full fee is payable.
1.1.9 Cancellation of a cleaning session needs to be given 2 weeks in advance otherwise the full fee is payable.
1.2 ONE-OFF CLEANING/ SPRING CLEANING/ TENANCY CLEANING AND AFTER BUILDERS CLEANING
1.2.1 Minimum of 4 hours per cleaning visit applies
1.2.2 Customer agrees to provide a task list and all necessary cleaning materials and equipment needed for the required work, unless other arrangements have been made with Maidsofpoppins.co.uk. All cleaning equipment should be safe and in full working order.
1.2.3 If the Customer does not have cleaning materials, Maidsofpoppins.co.uk will supply all necessary cleaning materials for an additional £2 per hour.
1.2.4 If collection of keys is required from a location outside the postal code area of the cleaning scheduled, a £10 charge will apply.
1.2.5 The Customer understands that the price quoted includes only cleaning labor.
1.2.6 If any estimates of how long it will take our operatives to do the job required are being provided this is only an estimate based on the average time it takes to clean a home of similar sizes to the customer’s, it being difficult to estimate precisely how long such tasks may take and degree of flexibility may be required.
1.2.7 One-Off/ Spring Cleaning/Tenancy cleaning and After builders cleaning do not include cleaning of: walls, ceilings, curtains, exterior windows, balcony, patio, gardens, washing up, laundry and professional carpet and upholstery cleaning. We provide this service as a separate quote.
1.2.8 Maidsofpoppins.co.uk reserves the right not to continue with the job if on inspection, it is found that the material to be cleaned or treated is not suitable for cleaning or treatment. Maidsofpoppins.co.uk also will not continue with the job if for example water or power is not available or if there is interference in the work from the customer or any other person.
2. PAYMENTS
2.1 Payment is requested on completion on the day of the cleaning session.
2.2 Payment can be made in cash on completion of the service.
2.3 Payment can be made by Bacs or with debit or credit card over the phone (This need to be made in advance).
2.4 The Customer agrees that any outstanding amount owed to Maidsofpoppins.co.uk can be charged from the debit/credit card the customer has provided at the time of the booking.
2.5 Customer understands that any ‘late payments’ may be subject to additional charges.
2.6 If payment is not made after 30 days of invoice then in accordance with the late payment of commercial debts act 1998, 8% interest will be added to the invoice above the bank of Englands Base Rate for every 30 days it is late, this will carry on for 3 months and then the account will be passed to a collection agency, after which a charge of 20% on top of the invoice due, will be added to the debt. You agree as part of this contract to pay this sum which represents our reasonable costs in collecting the unpaid amounts. Once statutory interest begins to run in relation to a qualifying debt, the supplier is also entitled to a fixed sum (a) for a debt less than £1000, the sum of £40; (b) for a debt of £1000 or more, but less than £10,000, the sum of £70;
2.7 All payments must be made in Great Britain Pounds.
3. COMPLAINTS AND CLAIMS
3.1 The Customer accepts and understands that poor service, breakage/damage or theft must be reported within 24 hours from the service date. Failure to do so will entitle Customer to no refunds or recovery cleanings.
3.2 Maidsofpoppins.co.uk requires the presence of the Customer or his/her representative at the beginning and at the end of the cleaning session so an inspection can be carried out and if any corrections are needed, should be made on the same day. If a Customer is not completely satisfied with the cleaning services, Maidsofpoppins.co.uk will re-clean any areas and item/s before the completion of the service on the same day.If the Customer has scheduled an inventory check then it must be scheduled to commence no later than 24 hours after the cleaning job has been done.
3.3 Maidsofpoppins.co.uk may take up to 7 working days to respond to a complaint.
3.4 Maidsofpoppins.co.uk will not accept a complaint based on an Inventory check report, filed more than 24-hour after the cleaning session.
3.5 Complaints are accepted verbally over the phone and in writing (letter or e-mail). Complaints must be reported on completion or in the following 24-hour.
3.6 All fragile and highly breakable items must be secured or removed. Items excluded from liability are: cash, jewellery, items of sentimental value (the Customer will be credited with the items present cash value), art and antiques.
3.7 Key replacement/locksmith fees are paid only if keys are lost by our operatives. There is a £30 per household liability limit.
3.8 In case of damage Maidsofpoppins.co.uk will repair the item at its cost. If the item cannot be repaired Maidsofpoppins.co.uk will rectify the problem by crediting the Customer with the item's present actual cash value toward a like replacement from a Maidsofpoppins.co.uk source upon payment of cleaning services rendered.
3.9 Maidsofpoppins.co.uk reserves the right not to be responsible for: delay for a cleaning visit due to a traffic congestion, postponed service due to broken equipment, job not complete due to lack of hot water or power and suitable cleaning materials and/or equipment in full working order provided by the customer, third party entering or present at the customer’s premises obstructing the cleaning process, accidental damages worth up to £100 or less.
4. CLIENT SATISFACTION
4.1 Customer understands that he/she is not entitled to any refunds.
4.2 If the customer is not completely satisfied with a cleaning job, Maidsofpoppins.co.uk will re- clean any areas and items to customer's satisfaction. Therefore customer must allow the cleaner to be returned.
4.3 Customer must be present at all times during the recovery-clean. Maidsofpoppins.co.uk reserves the right not to return a cleaner more than once.
5 LIABILITY TERMS - CLEANERS & CLEANING SERVICES FROM MAIDS OF POPPINS
5.1 Maidsofpoppins.co.uk reserves the right not to be liable for:
5.2 Completing tasks which are not stated on our task list;
5.3 Cleaning jobs not complete due to the lack of suitable cleaning materials and/or equipment in full working order, hot water or power;
5.4 Third party entering or present at the Customer's premises during the cleaning process;
5.5 Wear or discolouring of fabric becoming more visible once dirt has been removed;
5.6 Existing damage or spillage that cannot be cleaned/removed completely using provided by the Customer cleaning materials and equipment
5.7 Any damages caused by a faulty or not in full working order detergents/equipment supplied by the Customer.
5.8 If the Customer has got items which need special cleaning methods and special cleaning materials, Maidsofpoppins.co.uk reserves the right to refuse the provision of the cleaning materials.
5.9 Maidsofpoppins.co.uk will advise the client to provide the specific cleaning materials and to pass cleaning instructions to the sales advisors when placing the order or give instruction to the present cleaner;
6. CANCELLATION
6.1 REGULAR DOMESTIC CLEANING/ COMMERCIAL CLEANING
6.1.1 Customer may cancel or adjust the time of a cleaning visit/s by giving at least 24 hours advanced notice.
6.1.2 Customer agrees to pay the full price of a cleaning visit if the customer cancels or changes the date/time less than 24 hours prior to the scheduled appointment.
6.1.3 Customer agrees to pay the full price of the cleaning visit in the event of a lockout caused by our cleaners being turned away; no one home to let them in; or problem with customer's keys.
6.1.4 If keys are provided they must open the lock without any special efforts or skills.
6.1.5 Customer agrees to pay the full price of 4 cleaning visits in case of a termination of the service if the customer has given less than 4 week advanced notice.
6.2 ONE-OFF CLEANING/ SPRING CLEANING/ TENANCY CLEANING OR AFTER BUILDERS CLEANING
6.2.1 48 hours notice is required if customer should either decide to cancel or re-schedule a cleaning appointment.
6.2.2 Customer agrees to pay 50% of the quote as a cancellation fee if the customer cancels or changes the date/time less than 48 hours prior to the scheduled appointment.
6.2.3 Customer agrees to pay 50% of the quote as a cancellation fee in the event of a lockout caused by our cleaners being turned away; no one home to let them in; no water or power available at customer's premises; or problem with customer's keys.
6.2.4 If keys are provided they must open the lock without any special efforts or skills. If an initial deposit has been paid to Maidsofpoppins.co.uk Solutions then the customer agrees that deposit funds may be used to cover the cancellation fee.
7. AFTER CANCELLATION OF THE CLEANING SERVICE
By placing an order and or the commencement of a job the customer enters into an agreement with Maidsofpoppins.co.uk, the customer agrees that after the termination of the cleaning service he/she will not hire or use any domestic services provided by a present or past cleaner introduced to the customer by Maidsofpoppins.co.uk. If the customer wishes to hire or use domestic services provided by such a cleaner then he/she must pay a referral fee of £400.
These terms and conditions shall be governed by the relevant United Kingdom law, and by agreeing to be bound by them the customer agrees to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the relevant courts of the United Kingdom. Maidsofpoppins.co.uk. reserves the right to make any changes to any part of these terms and conditions without giving any prior notice.
